Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space.

Examples: Book, computer, air, water.

Non matter: thoughts, dreams, hope.

Changes in matter:

  • Physical change: No new substance is formed (e.g., melting, freezing).
  • Chemical change: A new substance is formed (e.g., burning, rusting).

Properties of matter: Can be described as physical (size, shape, state, color, temperature) or chemical (how matter reacts).
